Dear readers,
Ahoy, Crew!
As 2024 comes to a close, I can’t help but reflect on what an incredible journey it’s been—both in the investment world and in life. This time of year always feels like the perfect opportunity to pause, celebrate the wins, learn from the lessons, and gear up for what’s ahead.
Sometimes it is sunshine and rainbows!

Top Financial Highlights of 2024
What a ride, right? This year was one for the record books. Here are some standout moments that shaped the financial world:
• The S&P 500 Surging Close to 30%: A powerhouse year for U.S. equities, with the S&P posting one of its strongest performances in the past decade. Diversification never looked so good.
• Bitcoin Reaches New All-Time Highs: As digital assets gained broader acceptance and institutional backing, BTC proved it’s here to stay—for now, at least.
• Interest Rates Show Signs of Easing: After a marathon of rate hikes, central banks finally signalled a shift. Lower rates could mean smoother sailing ahead for investors and borrowers alike.
• A Pro-Growth Shift in U.S. Policy: With the new administration focusing on innovation, infrastructure, and sustainability, opportunities are brewing across sectors like clean energy, AI, and healthcare.
Of course, let’s not forget: past performance isn’t indicative of future results. The markets can be as unpredictable as a sudden squall, so it’s always about planning for the long haul and staying grounded.
Celebrating Wins—Yours and Mine
One of the most rewarding parts of this year has been seeing this community grow and thrive. Whether it was growing from 0 to 450+ readers in 3 months or hearing from readers who purchased their first properties, these moments remind me why I started The Yachting Investor in the first place.
On a personal note, I’ve also hit some big milestones this year:
I ran my first Ultramarathon (and didn’t die)
My portfolio hit a target which I only hoped to achieve in 2027!
And also, I managed to meet a beautiful woman whom I now get to call my girlfriend :)
It’s proof that focusing on growth, both financially and personally, truly pays off.
3 Quick Wins to Kickstart 2025
Ready to set your financial sails for the new year? Start with these simple but effective steps:
1. Audit Your Financial Compass
Review your budget, investment portfolio, and savings goals. Is everything aligned with where you want to go? Trim the sails where necessary—cut waste, reallocate funds, and make sure you’re moving in the right direction.
2. Start or Top Up an Emergency Fund
The unexpected is always lurking around the corner, so aim for at least 3-6 months’ worth of expenses stashed in a high-yield savings account. It’s peace of mind and a safety net all in one.
3. Automate Your Financial Goals
Whether it’s investing a percentage of your pay-check, building a rainy-day fund, or paying down debt, automation is your secret weapon. Set it, forget it, and watch your wealth grow over time.
Looking Ahead: What’s Next for 2025?
The horizon is bright, my friends! I see opportunities in all sorts of markets- especially the ever-changing landscape of AI and Big Tech. The key? Start strong.
